Alexandros Vazakas studied architecture in Athens (NTUA), followed by postgraduate studies in Rotterdam (Berlage Institute). He holds a Phd title from the School of Architecture N.T.U.A. regarding current methodologies on participatory design. He has been granted scholarships from Michelis Foundation, Nuffic Foundation, and the Greek Government Scholarships Foundation ( I.K.Y.)
He has been distinguished in National Architectural Competitions and his work has been exhibited and published nationally and internationally.
He has taught Digital Media in Architectural Design in the School of Architecture in the National Technical University of Athens and in the faculty of Architecture in the Technical University of Crete (T.U.C.) where he is teaching Architectural Design since 2007. Since 2009 he is a Lecturer at the School of Architecture in T.U.C., teaching Architectural Design & Associative and computation design. Since 2010 he is directing the Digital Fabrication Laboratory in the School of Architecture T.U.C.
Dr. Maria Mandalaki is a tutor at the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete and a permanent architect of the Department of Technical Projects of Prefecture of Chania. She received her Diploma in Architecture from NTUA (1998), and her postgraduate Diploma from the Berlage Institute, Rotterdam, The Netherlands (2004).
She got her PhD at the School of Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete with specialization in the integration of photovoltaic elements in shading systems (2014).
She was a scholar of the Michelis Foundation (Postgraduate) and State Scholarships Foundation of Greece IKY (Ph.D.). She has been distinguished in national Architectural competitions, and she has participated in national and international exhibitions and scientific conferences and has a large number of publications and references in scientific journals. He has participated in research focusing on energy assessment and assessment of the built environment.
Since 2007 he has been collaborating with the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete in the field of Architectural Technology (Bioclimatic Design) and the Architectural Design Department and since 2008 with the School of Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete.
